About us

About Hampton School Legacy Inc.
Hampton School Legacy is a group of past students who have mobilized to effectuate needed changes to our beloved high school. We are appealing to past students, family, friends and anyone who would like to join us in making a lasting impact by pledging your donation; commit to make a difference.

Hampton School, located in the Malvern Mountain in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, celebrated its 160th year in 2018. One of the events marking this impressive milestone was a grand reunion weekend for the Hampton diaspora. Past students of this prestigious Institution, from the period of 1960s thru 2013, celebrated Hampton. Highlights of the celebration were not limited to the rituals unique to the School, the food and the boarding school life, but included fun-filled activities enjoyed by all. The event ended with a commitment by several students to pay-it-forward and to reinvest to improve the infrastructure

of the School, ensuring an enhanced environment for current and future students. The past students departed the campus to embark on fundraising efforts to address several targeted areas of disrepair - the water flow throughout the campus, the bathrooms and the dormitories. Following the accomplishment of the water project, the group restructured earlier in 2021 and now looks forward to accomplishing other established goals on the campus of our alma mater, Hampton School.

THE OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS THANK YOU!

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those who generously supported the Pre-Holiday Telethon. This event was a great success.

Through the generous contribution of time given freely by artists, alumni and friends of Hampton School, our virtual audience enjoyed a festive event.  The audience members were also generous in assisting us toward reaching the project's goal.  Pledges totaling $12,000, 30% of the needed balance to complete the bathroom project were received.  That was a significant accomplishment in one night, a giant step toward meeting our goal of $40,000.

YOUR DONATION IS MAKING A GREAT  DIFFERENCE.

HAMPTON SERIGRAPH

This serigraph captures the entrance to Hampton’s main buildings with its beautiful cut-stone and shingles architecture.  Rooms located on top were the dormitories, and sick bay and those captured below were the classrooms, staff rooms, and eating quarters. Our girls can be seen in their blue and white uniforms in the quadrangle along with some members of staff.

As the school has grown the dormitories, classrooms and dining room have been moved to new buildings, and the original main buildings pictured here now serve primarily as offices and staff rooms.  The beautiful facade remains unchanged.
